Gitzo mountaineer GT 2541
Recommended
for lightweight camcorders, spotting scopes and DSLRs with 200mm
lenses, up to a 300mm maximum. Excellent maximum load capacity and good
torsional rigidity, available in 3- and 4-section models at standard
and eye level heights. Series 2 is the ideal solution for photographers
that are looking for a solid tripod without sacrificing weight. |

My everyday tripod - at only 1.4
Kg (3lb) and capable of carrying a 12 Kg load, this tripod is simply
brilliant. The g-lock legs can be tightened and loosened with two fingers and
by gripping all three locks (per leg) simultaneously, one turn action will
loosen each leg, making it one of the quickest tripods to set up. Spreading
legs also mean it can work close to ground level. Collapsed it's just short
enought to fit in a suitcase, so is also my preferred choice when travelling.

Gitzo Explorer GT2530EX (3
section)
The Explorer is another of our
tripods for special applications; a versatile support that opens up new
shooting perspectives. Thanks to it's unconventional design, the legs can be
set at any angle and moved independently while the center column tilts and
rotates freely to any position. The Explorer unleashes its potential when
used with a Gitzo off-center ball head, a combination that makes it the ideal
tripod for creative photographers, looking for unconventional shots: close to
ground, upside down or in tight or awkward spaces. Ideal applications are
outdoor macro and nature photography, still life and architectural. |

This tripod is how the Benbo
should have been designed! Independantly locking legs allowing any spread up
to horizontal - a simple adjusting mechanism also means that the tension of
the leg locks can be set to match your finger strength and the weigh tof the
load you are putting on the tripod. Add to this the tilting / swivling
column, also on a seperate locking mechanism and you have probably the most
versatil;e tripod made. All in a package weighing under 2Kg. The 3-section
will also go to a good height even without using the centre column, making it
ideal for the taller photographer. A truly brilliant design, aimed squarely
at the natural history photographer, but it's versatility works well in all
other applications. |

Gitzo Explorer GT2540EX (4
section)
Four Section of above. The
Explorer is another of our tripods for special applications; a versatile
support that opens up new shooting perspectives. Thanks to it's
unconventional design, the legs can be set at any angle and moved
independently while the center column tilts and rotates freely to any
position. The Explorer unleashes its potential when used with a Gitzo
off-center ball head, a combination that makes it the ideal tripod for
creative photographers, looking for unconventional shots: close to ground,
upside down or in tight or awkward spaces. Ideal applications are outdoor
macro and nature photography, still life and architectural. |

The 4-section version loses none
of the stability of the 3-section model, but will collapse to a shorter
length when packed - making it more portable. With its legs extended, it
doesn't quitre achieve the same height as the 3-section, but the centre column
is very stable and photographers of all heights should have no problems with
this amazingly versatile tripod |

Only available as a 3-section,
it has the same versatility as the other two above. The only trade-off is a
little extra weight for sa saving of over £100. This tripod really does
represent great value for mony. |

Gitzo Systematic tripods |
call |
The tripod of choice for the
nature photographer - easily capable
of carrying long and heavy lens / camera setups, and can work from eye level to ground level, due to the absence
of a centre column (available as an optional extra). The only tripod for the
serious bird photographer, yet amazingly light and portable. |

Gitzo G1178M Quick Release Centre
Ball Head
Our magnesium center ball heads
are renowned for their smooth and precise movements and high quality
manufacturing. PTFE is applied to the ball and blocking pads to eliminate all
traces of jarring and skipping. The result is highly accurate positioning adjustments,
even with long tele lenses. |

The Gitzo ball heads have
recently undergone some desing changes, utilising new technologies to make
them even smoother in operation. New coatings on the ball surface promotes
smooth movement and give a very positive locking action, will almost no
"ball head droop" - many other ball heads seem to settle slightly
after locking. These heads are remarkably light in weight and carry heavy
lens / camera combinations easily. |
